Nitrogen level impact on the production of double row fodder of maize

Maize is the most important crop in Mexico, being central to diets of consumers, particularly smallholders, and an undetermined amount allocated as straw, green fodder, and, a lesser extent, silage for animal feed. Nitrogen fertilizer considered one factors affecting growth, grain yield, maize biomass production. In this context, main objective study was evaluate effects different levels nitrogen on A randomized complete block experimental design consisted three treatments (180, 160, 80 kg/ha) with replications morphological (plant height, stem thickness, rate growth), yield components (cob weight, length, number rows per cob, plant biomass) variables were used. The results suggest that increase increases all parameters However, at 160 kg/ha, greatest production fodder recorded 5.99 tons/ha, superior reported 180 which 5.47 tons/ha.
